The first three months of the new Democratic Congress have been neither terrible nor transcendent. A Pew poll had it about right: a substantial majority of the public remains happy the Democrats won in 2006, but neither Nancy Pelosi nor Harry Reid has dominated the public consciousness as Newt Gingrich did when the Republicans came to power in 1995. There is a reason for that. A much bigger story is unfolding: the epic collapse of the Bush Administration.

Tell me what you think of this: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1607243,00.html

For Time magazine, it was quite an article. But at the same time, others have been saying the same things for years.

I don't understand why the Democrats have taken the impeachment option off the table, you don't hear about it at all.

And it is a documented fact that the Bush administration was warned early and often about an attack previous to 9/11 and they chose to ignore every warning. And no one seems to care.

According to the Washington Post, his approval rating is back up to 47% - One can only ask why?

This administration gets away with a lot, and many people seem to tolerate it, I don't know how much lower they can sink in regards to competence.

But irregardless, to actually answer the question, no, I don't think we are witness to an epic collapse. I think that unless there is some new aggression taking place, domestically or globally, this administration will just meander along and fizzle out all together.
And those getting rich will get richer. And everyone will just take what they can get, and run.

One does not have to read a "Time" magazine article to understand what is happening to George Bush's stance in the country, in fact, his stance throughout the world. Anyone who has been paying attention over the past years under the Bush administration could see what was coming. The dramatics and theatre of Bush and his cohorts have run their pathetic course.

In any other time in our nations history, it would have been a safe bet to state that any administration, so corrupt, inept and maniacal as Bush administration would be unceremoniously booted from power by the people ... and in short order.

Sadly, I think the administration is here to stay till the end. The same arrogance (the surge), incompetence (Walter Reed) and cynicism (the U.S. Attorneys) that's addressed in the article also resides in the new NeoCon. That is to say, the administration's base is just as arrogant, incompetent, and cynical as the administration itself. Nothing is beneath them, and as John Dean points out in his enlightening book: "Conservatives Without Conscience", today's NeoCons question absolutey nothing about their own ideologies, and accept absolutely nothing from ideologies that differ from their own. They are truly without conscience, even though many of them profess to be christian.

I am not current on American politics...but I think the Bush administration has been collapsing piece by piece for a while now...I think Bush himself is collapsing. He seems to be in way over his head and is falling further and further behind in his ability to cope with the presidency. I'm not an American...just my opinion.

More like the Epic Collapse of the USA.. Don't believe me...find out that the SPP is actually consolidating our Government into including Mexico's, and Canada's. Why do you think that there is so much legislation out there to try to stop the SPP, WHICH Bush signed. I can't totally blame Bush though...Bush Sr. and Clinton signed and pushed NAFTA through.

i imagine too many human beings are turning off their television's and getting on line for Bush to cope with to apply the substantial media to cover his butt. for instance, i would not have adequate money a television channel like Rupert Murdoch, yet i am going to have adequate money an internet site... and thanks to that little fact, over 6,000 human beings have already seen my version of the fact. i don't believe of heritage will be as kind to georgieboy because it really is been to some different Presidents. His mouth is his own worst enemy, or perhaps if you are able to cope with to cajole human beings that he became "tricked" into being the way he's, it nevertheless makes him seem susceptible at perfect.

I think it's dead on. The guy who claimed to be a uniter, and then engaged in the most partisan actions that I can recall by an administration, has torn this country apart. At every step this administration has taken, it has shown itself to be arrogant, and not particularly adept at disguising its ulterior motives, which ultimately are related to its lust for power. What goes around comes around.
