I am a Conservative. Not a George Bush conservative, but a Ronald Reagan conservative. If Reagan was in office now Iraq would have solved before it even started.

Strictly speaking, I'm more Progressive than Liberal (liberals are a little too right-wing for me).
I believe that the government exists for the benefit of all, not only those on the top -- and don't give me "trickle down" because that simply does NOT happen. When the "trickle down" freaks are in power, the standard of living of MOST goes down the toilet, while a very few get richer and richer at everyone else's expense.
I'm for keeping religion OUT of government. Not morality, which belongs there (the government shouldn't murder, torture, rape, steal, abet the destruction of the environment, or do other harmful things).
I'm for equal rights and opportunity for all people.
I think a civilized society (which I WISH I lived in) doesn't simply allow people to starve and die.
I believe it's in society's best interest for all to be as well educated as possible; and for all to be able to get health care.
The key word for liberals is 'liberty,' that is, people should only be stopped from doing what they want when it does harm.
It's a fine old word, 'liberal;' it's a shame that a few screamers have made so many think it's a bad thing.
America itself is a liberal idea.
Most Americans are liberals in their views.
On the other hand, I have fewer problems with genuine conservatives (all three of them), than with the whatever-they-are things currently in charge.
They're frickin' dangerous.

Conservative: Because I believe in family values, I like to think outside the box, but I don't like to journey to far out of it.
I don't feel that change is necessary for every issue we face if it's not broke don't fix it. And mostly my beliefs are shared by most conservatives so Therefore I am!!!

Fiscally Conservative, Socially Moderate. ex. Pro-Choice and Pro-Death Penalty. Hawkish on foreign relations and national defense, very anti-illegal immigrant. I voted for 20 years as a Republican simply because I dispise liberalism, but I am a Libertarian who leans pretty heavily right.

I am a fairly moderate liberal...I do believe in personal responsibilty, but also believe there should a system to help out the less fourtante. I do think goverment isn't an answer to everything, but there are some issues where they need to step in eviorment for example. I believe in personal choices are just that personal and not for a goverment to step in and decide.

Neither. Fiscally conservative. Many neo-cons believe in borrow and spend, what wer are doing now, and many liberals believe in tax and spend. Socially liberal. Many neo-cons think laws should favor their beliefs and persecute others. Like an earlier reply said, in the middle, like most real people in America. There is more that we have in common than otherwise. Life is not black and white.

I'm in the middle of both.
As a black person, it is hard to ever consider yourself a Republican. They have supported segregation, racial profiling, against affirmative action, and against minority education programs. Not to mention too many of my friends and other blacks have been killed by guns for semi-automatic weapons to be justified. I am against the War in Iraq as well.
I support the War in Afghanistan, neutral opinion on abortion, feel the that the right answer to the War on Terror is to go after Al Qaeda, not any particular country. Fell that we should close our borders. Fell that we should spend $250 Billion on closing our borders, killing Al Qaeda, educating our youth, restructuring welfare so people don't abuse it (another baby means less money not more and for a finite amount of time), helping American automakers out financially, and finding alternative fuels so we don't have to use so much foreign oil.
The Democrats have it wrong as well. You can't just pull out of Iraq, although I think that is better than spending another $100 billion on it. Some guns are ok (but there should be a limit on how many and what kind). If you want to do some good for the World figure out how to remove the militias form running African countries.

Far Right
Because it makes sense
(ok, ok, there are some issues that I disagree with in my corner but for the most part I lean to the far right)
sorry to the person that posted this but isnt this answer classic. Not trying to pick on her or anything but I can't stop laughing. So what the hell are you and why?
I am liberal because I have to believe the the social problems in this country should well out weigh the foreign problems. Doesn't seem any thought is put into the people actually living in the United States, its all about foreign policy, which is important but so are Katrina victims, homeless people, abused children...etc, the lists goes on....

Conservative - I think that all people are equal and have the same ability to achieve (except in cases of severe mental or physical handicaps). I think the Federal government should stick to protecting the country, and stop dictating what I can and can not do in my personal life. I think Federal income taxes are unconstitutional. I believe in the Constitution, and do not think it should be manipulated. I am against the breeding of ignorance and the creation of pointless dead-end jobs (both of which are disguised as government schools, and "sympathy" for the poor)

Liberal, because I simply don't agree with conservatives on most issues. I find their leadership to be irresponsible.
