Are you that upright, honest, truthfull person you said you'd be as a kid. Or are you the person you looked at when you were little and thought 'I'm never going to be like that!' Are you proud of the person you are today?

Yes, I think I am that person I wanted to be. I'm honest, kind and caring and wouldn't hurt a fly. I put everyone elses needs before my own but I'm starting to learn that being that person is not easy or beneficial to anyone. A ot of he tim I feel used and unappreciated and how can I be a nice person to others if I don't feel good in myself about it. I think it's important to find a balance and somethimes that involves being a not so nice person and I find thatdifficult as I'm petrified of failure and criticism.

I am not the person I thought I would be as a child, I am in many ways the person I never thought I would want to be, and yes I am happy.

When I was young I was shy, I did try to be nice, but I also did some nasty things, because I felt I was unfortunate in many ways, and I tried to compensate.

I could not imagine myself being as I am because, I could not imagine I would have the confidence to be as I am, and I couldn't imagine enjoying being as I am.

Like you I spend time helping others, but I know I should also spend time on my own needs, and I make a conscious effort to do just that.

There are some things I wanted to do, which I would still like to do.

I never said I was going to be upright, honest, or truthful. I said I'd have my life how I want it, filled with loving family and friends who accept me... I said I'd travel, and eat and drink good things, and have adventures, I said I'd have a good job and live in a warm place. I said I'd overcome my timidity and learn to assert myself.

I've accomplished all those things, and yeah I'd say I'm pretty proud of who I am... not because I'm perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but because I try hard, meet my responsibilities, and I've come so far and done so many things. I've overcome so many of my problems, some I wondered if I ever could. I've made a life I love to live. That's enough for me.

Yes, I am proud of myself. I'm happy that I have experienced events that have shaped me into who I am today.

I still feel I have a long way to go to become perfect, if such an ideal can ever be attained (trying to be optimistic here). I wish I were more disciplined, more respectful & more balanced.

But, I am happy for who I am today. At my current age, I am who I want to be. In a few years time, I hope to mature more and become an even better person.

All the best =)

P.S. I like your question. It made my reflect on my life & experiences from a different angle.

I'm proud of the way I am and the way I act toward others the majority of the time but I would still like to achieve something really important in my life.

I think I've matured....but I doubt anyone is who they say they wanted to be like, people are manipulative and change is innevatable. Personally, I still have my flaws and childlike moments, but who doesn't.
