first off..a lot of people vote lots and lots and lots and lots of time for someone on american idol...not just once. so the amount of votes on american idol isnt a good representation of how many people actually voted.
secondly..who cares? theres nothing wrong with not voting in a presidential election. people think its a horrible crime that not enough young people vote..but i think its a good thing. only people who care and have an understanding of whats going on should actually vote. noone should be forced into it or do it blindly.

Unless you live in Chicago you can only vote once in a Presidential election. That is not the case for American Idol.

12 year old children are not allowed to vote in Presidential elections. The people who vote on A.I. are allowed to vote as many times as they want. If they could only vote one time who would have had the most voters?

That is sad. Of course, you don't have to be 18 to vote in American Idol, but I see your point...

Yeah.. but see Idol doesn't use the Electoral College system of voting!

For some strange reason Idol uses the one man= one vote system. I mean GOD how outdated is that concept jeez who ever heard of that!

The American voting system! (use with caution, answers will vary)

I hope you all can see the sarcasm I am using here.

obviously, that attributes to most Americans being ignorant to the process that decides who will govern them. Go to any high school (public or private) and see how many people you can consider 'informed voters'.

Goto a supermarket and do the same, the percentages will be the same which is sad. It doesnt really matter what stupid idiots are singing so they can become property of the FOX network.

that's not true. American idol counts votes not voters. In most places in the US you are only allowed to vote once.
