The American way does not represent "Intolerant Hate" America is one of the most tolerant Nations on the Planet.
Radical Muslims however, stone women for being raped, strap bombs to little children, and profess to kill the "infidel".
And if you think it is only Republicans who think that Freedom and Democracy should be spread around the world, then you need to read some history. And if the answerer Nostradamus thinks that it is Republicans who want so called American jobs to be sent overseas, then why did Bill Clinton sign us up to be a part of NAFTA, which happens to be a revamped version of GATT. An if Americans are so upset over products being made overseas or in Mexico or Canada, then why do we buy more of those products than ever before? Stop buying the stuff. Maybe those companies will get the message. ANd, the military industrial complex is providing Billions of dollars in profits to companies that are owned or operated by Democrats and Republicans, Pelosi comes to mind.

You can't be serious. You see how people around the world are treated by their governments, militaries and their own citizens: misogyny, medieval forms of punishment, rules and laws against man's (and woman's) basic freedoms. Just because we don't feel it here doesn't mean we should ignore it elsewhere. When some countries execute homosexuals and actually punish rape victims, do you honestly say to yourself, "eh, that's their way of life...they've done it for awhile, they must like it."

Just because peoples' true suffering can't accurately be portrayed through weblogs and The Daly Show doesn't mean it's anymore acceptable. And an "American Way" of life offers you the freedoms to enjoy your life to the fullest, as a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Atheist or anyone else, without being persecuted.

...which is what brings me to your point about Muslims. It seems as though many people are having a hard time distinguishing between a Muslim, and a Radical, Fundamentalist. It's the latter we worry about the most, because THEY THEMSELVES have preached their own message of hate to the point where the only thing left is for them to run commercials and straight TELL US what they're going to do. Assuming you even believe the true story, didn't 9/11 send a clear enough message for you?

There is a segment of the Republican party that does indeed want to be the sole influence for the rest of the world. This segment is now in the White House and centers on such hard-liners as Cheney, Wolfowitz, and others. They drive policy through think tanks, such as the American Enterprise Institute and Project for a New American Century.
Their intent is to keep the accidental prominence that the US rose to as sole superpower when the Soviet Union fell. They intend to use that power to prevent any other countries or groups of countries from ever becoming rivals to the supremacy of the US.

When the AEI puts out a policy paper it can frequently be found that the White House announces a major policy initiative matching the AEI a few days later.

Obviously this not true of all Republicans. Unfortunately, this is true of some of them, the current Bozo in residence at the Oval Office being one of them. But no matter. Soon he and his ilk will be disabused of their notion that the whole world must march to the beat of the same drummer, and they will be banished to the hinterland from which they came.

Personally, I think that America could take a few lessons from the British system of government. Parliament can dispense with a government by a no confidence vote if they choose to do so. I think a similar power needs to be put in the hands of American citizens through a federal recall vote. Then we could get rid of morons like George Bush post haste in the event we see he is going in a direction we don't want to be taken. Four years is much too long to allow a bull to run rampant in a china closet.

Stephanie thanks for answering for all Republicans. Although I appreciate the thought and effort my answer is slightly different than the one you have provided for me.

NO, I do not think our way is the way for the rest of the world. But some form of democracy is the best form of government when compared to socialist, communist, and dictatorships.

As far as your second question. Are you relating the "American Way" with "Intolerant Hate"? Nice

The Republicans think everyone should be on the exact same page they are, even on moral issues.
But they don't kill innocent children, women and men with bombs like the Muslims extremists do.
To even compare the two is ludicrous.
I am a democrat, but one thing I have in common with my fellow republicans is that we are both Americans and both love our country!

Americas problem at the present time is that they are at odds with the rest of the world. They even treat their allies badly with distorted agreements and illegal acts.

Not surprisingly not only are they making more enemies they are also deterring their friends.

Dollar dives - trades stumbles - the situation goes on going down.

At some time someone in America has got to start offering leadership instead of dictation, fairness instead of inequality and common sense instead of a death wish!!!

America is a great nation but sadly the current leadership are showing the exact opposite!!!

Not really

but the way you speak of.....

if america was like the middle east.. you would have prolly been shot already for asking that question and figuring out which headscarf or burka to wear today, if your got to go to a school it would be rare, if you left the house by yourself you would be beaten....

the rest of the world should not be a carbon copy of ourselves, but humans in general should be treated a bit better and be free to make their own decisions in life

That would be because "the American way" is nothing more than individual liberty, and the rest of the world comprises individuals. In most of the world 10 people gang up on 6 and idiots like you claim that that's how the 16 want it.

America believes in Freedom and Truth including freedom of/from religion.

The evildoers believe in just the opposite.

It really is just that simple.

Why can't you see this? Are you a college student in a mulitcultural class?
