will not sure what your full questions is...but I do know medications can only be give by a Psychiatrist cuz they are a doctor of medicine...the clincial Psychologist is very knowledgeble but can not give out meds.
Depends on your full needs...if you just need someone to talk to the the psychologist would be find and if they thought you needed meds the would referr you to an md.

A Psychiatrist can write prescriptions for medications and a Clinical Psychologist can only talk.
If you need medications, you need a Psychiatrist.

i don't get it; what's the question? psychiatrists give meds and clinicians don't. i think that they are both essential in the treatment of chronic mental ilness. if you're talking about an episode or suspected ilness, i think that the clinical psychologist would be the best place to start.

All a clinical psychologist can do is talk. The talking cure was quackery in Freud's day and it's quackery today. If you need somebody to talk to, find somebody you like to talk to and talk to them. There's no magic about being a trained therapist.
