Hi

I'm 36 weeks pregnant today and my baby already weighs 3.1kg (just under 7 pounds)

I'm really tiny - havent really picked up alot of weight - its all baby bump

Dr says if I carry till 40 weeks the baby will weigh 4.2kg atleast.

The baby already dropped.

How much longer do I really have and is my baby's weight normal?

PS I did a check for gestational diabetes & its negative

that is normal baby weight. He seems kinda heavy, but maybe he is coming sooner than planned. I wouldn't worry. Maybe it is what you are eating. I rather a heavier baby than a lighter one! Good luck!

Doctors have concluded that the average gestation of the human female is anywhere from 37-42 weeks. Both my children were born at 37 weeks and they were healthy as horses. I didnt have to be induced or anything. They were both 7lbs 1oz and 6 lbs 14 oz respectively. So you can imagine how big they could have been with the whole "they gain a pound a week in the last month". You could go anytime hunny!! Please dont drink castor oil or anything silly like that. Wait until 37 weeks then have sex, go for walks, or go on bumpy car rides! Congrats hun!!

Ps: yes your babys weight is perfect!

Congrats on the little one...your baby sounds like a normal weight..you want a baby to be born over 5 pounds so that all the body parts work better...and they can keep there temp.at a normal degree...don't rush you still have 3 to 4 weeks just let the little one finish and the day will be here before you know it...

Hi, I worked in a ob/gyn clinic for 4years til I moved and had to relocate. 36weeks pregnant, almost 7 pounds.... That's not un-normal, especially if you're already very tiny. 61/2-71/2 pounds upon delivery is very good. You shouldn't worry. Believe God will take care of you. He will. Is this your first baby? That's good that you don't have gestational diabetes. Sounds like you've had a good pregnancy. Stay positive, you'll do fine.

Only time will tell as far as when its time to deliver. My youngest was early at 36 weeks, she weighed 9 lbs 13 oz. I did not have gestational diabetes either, and my first baby weighed only 6 lbs and 1/4 oz at 38 weeks when I delivered.

well congradulations. i am happy to hear u are doing so well and the baby is gainning good weight. If i were u, i would talk this concern over with ur Doc. explain u are worried the baby may get to big and u are scared u may not be able to have a vaginal birth if baby gets to big. talk over what would happen then if the baby is to big, like c-section ect and the difference of healing between both. It is better to be informed then to go into all this unknowing. im sure it all will work out great for u but u need to talk this over with the one who will be delivering ur baby. good luck and God Bless

My dr told my sister that her daughter would be little, less than 7 lbs and she was well over 8lbs. You never know how big your baby is going to be until it gets here. And it's possible that your due date is off and you'll deliever sooner than you thought. Don't worry too much...big chubby babies are soo cute! And just because you're physically small, doesn't mean you can't give birth to a big baby. It's all about how you're built down there. ;)

Take care!

It's all okay, when your pregnant or have a baby you gain more weight and loose some of your beauty. Some of your problems will pass when your have your baby. It' happens to some women and it's normal, so you have nothing to worry about. Just be patient.

My mom, who is 5' tall (barely) and weighs 96 pounds, delivered me (8lbs. 3 oz) and my brother (8 lbs. 13 oz) naturally with no problems. Oh, and she was 36 when I was born and 38 when my brother was born.

Relax. It will be just fine. I'm sure your doctor is totally competent and will be there every step of the way.

Good luck!
