Leaves make the sugars by photosynthesis.
Sugars are taken to the fruits by the phloem.

Leaves of course; they make food by the process of photosynthesis. The first product is sugar, glucose. Glucose combines with fructose forming sucrose and this is transported in the phloem to fruits and storage regions.
