How are you going to explain to your children how you didn't listen to the warning signs of warming on this planet just b/c it wasn't a "talking point" of your party? Let's not run an uncontrolled experiment on the only home we have. Err on the side of caution, it's called common sense.

Mars has an eccentric orbit. It gets warmer when it is closer to the sun and cools when it is farther from the sun. Neither Al Gore nor George Bush have the slightest influence on the orbit of Mars and hence Martian temperatures. The best scientific evidence is that the solar irradiance has been constant within 1% for the last century and is not a factor in the warming of either Mars or Earth. The effect of human activities on global warming as a scientific question has been resolved. If Al Gore is a heretic, he is a heretic in the tradition of Galileo.

This just in:

Al Gore claims that the two Mars Rovers sent by NASA are reflecting sunlight off their solar panels that is effecting the atmosphere by creating a high albedo mirror which is disrupting the heat levels within the planet.

We must stop all space studies before its too late!

These morons need to realize that one major hickup from the Sun, one unlike we have ever seen can reach the Earth in seconds and vaporize our atmosphere and pretty much fry the Earth. Just because it has not happened doesn't mean that it can't. Even with a higher steady stream of sluffed radiated particles from the Suns surface can effect every planet in the SOLAR system.

It is what causes changes in everything! Man has been around for what 20,000 years?

That is a very short time in history and only a blink of an eye in planetary ages. Who are we to say what can happen if we have never experienced these 100,000 - 1,000,000 year Sun cycles before.

People are so easy - and stupid!

The Republicans use Terror
The Democrats use Global Warming

They both have their angles. Republicans use theirs to control people - Democrats use their to control and sanction anything to do with the Worlds enviroment. It's a joke!

What's next, a Global Warming tax?

I imagine his explanation would run somewhere along the lines of this: http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=192

That might be a tad scientific for your tastes, though. Key point: the observed Martian warming, if it's happening, has been measured for a much shorter period than the warming on Earth.

Besides, who said there can't be multiple causes of something? If you have a cold due to forces beyond your control (equivalent to the possible recent increase of solar activity), do you say "That's the only reason I'm not healthy!" and allow your health to further deteriorate by, say, eating a diet of candy? Or do you try to treat yourself nutritionally as well as possible?

What? Al Gore never proved that Global Warming on the earth was caused by humans, he just showed that there was a correlation between human activity and the temperature. He has never said anything about Mars. Bush is not personally responsible for global warming and I don't think anyone has said that, even Gore. Bush has neglected the environment. He should have signed the Kyoto Protocol.

Why does he have to explain global warming on Mars?

Oh, because an idiot who doesn't accept that humans are causing global warming on Earth says he should, not a very good reason is it?

The Mars warming comes from the probes that NASA has sent. Man is evil.

Al Gore is full of hot air, and i do agree that we should take care of our planet but as you said scare tactics is useless. anybody still recovering from Y2K?

he will blame Bush because Bush mentioned about going to Mars once. Al Gore is fat

We sent the Martian Rover! It created a GIGANTIC Carbon Footprint! Darn solar energy.....

Since there's no scientific evidence to support that this is a man-made occurance (I don't care about your crappy theroies, or anything that comes out of MR. I invented the internet's mouth), so I'm not worried about it.
