Argh!!! Sadly, yeah Oakland is likely to grab a rookie QB now unless they persue Trent Green (He's still available right?)...but I'm not sure how likely that is to happen....I'm more upset that my Panthers signed a QB like Carr to BACK UP Delhomme....why not replace him? I'm tired of Delhomme...whatever...
I think Oakland would be better off getting Russell or Quinn with the 1st pick in the draft and then a WR or OL with their 33rd pick in the draft (depending on what they do with their receivers now..it might be better to get a WR then) It's hard to say, because that team has so many problems on offense stemming from the OL...translating to the QB...and then to the WRs after that, so all three need to be upgraded before this team has any hope of success again. It may take until 2008 before they're ready to make another run, which could give a rookie QB time to get the feel for the pros...

I don't want to make this sound bad if you are a Raiders fan, but when it comes to the Raiders at this point, does it really matte who starts at QB? I think if Moss sticks around start him, it really doesn't matter. Al Davis needs to go away plain and simple. The pill popping days of the 70's and 80's are over, he doesn't know any other way. He made Art Shell the coach for goodness sake, that pretty much tells you how important a QB in Oakland is at this point.

They could pick up Joey Harrington or Chris Weinke, who was released by the Panthers, obviously to make room for Carr...Also, I think Drew Bledsoe is out there unsigned...(As a Pats fan, I know they didn't have an O line either, in his rookie season)...He's almost as big as Russell, at 6'5...Otherwise, they are stuck with Andrew Walter, apparently...

well lemme b on ur side, yea they could end up with a rookie quarterback like the bears were a couple years back with Kyle orr or they can sign a free agent that is a bit better than the rookies, but if u think about it if they were to sign a rookie they can make him the franchise quarterback like they did in Arizona with there rookie qb. So when thinking the better outcome yea they will end up with a rookie quarterback because they need to look into the future, because ever since loosing rich gannon they have sucked beyond suck. they need a franchise qb. without it they wont win

If the Raiders don't draft Russel they will be making a huge mistake. If they had a QB already then I think Calvin Johnson would be the #1 pick.
He will play better than the cast of charachters the Raiders used at QB last season.

I would guess that the Raiders are going to stick with Andrew Walter for at least the first half of the season. If they draft Russell in the first round, then as soon as he's up to speed they'll probably put him in. However, unless they shore up their front line, Russell will probably suffer the same problems as Walter: sitting on his butt where he was hit by the defense.

First issues first, take Gabbert out thoroughly, each and each and every time that team wins his enter has actually no longer something to do with it. Now that I were provided that out of my gadget, i imagine the records talk for themselves the following, Dalton to me is the sparkling selection. And shall we also keep in innovations this, Newton has Williams and Stewart to throw the protection off besides as Smith who supplies him one hundred yds in preserving with sport. consider has AP to throw defenses off besides as Percy Harvin as a very solid reciever. HeII i will even positioned Gabbert back into the equation in simple terms to make this aspect, Gabbert has MJD contained in the back field for the blue moons even as Jacksonville throws. Dalton's best target is a rookie (granted a rookie without reduce to his means, yet nonetheless a rookie) besides as a operating back who fairly wont %. up more advantageous than 70 yards a sport. do not get me incorrect, Cinci's protection is why they are at present 6-3, yet someone nonetheless has to lead his team downfield to furnish them the lead.

Considering how bad the Raiders are, starting a rookie quarterback actually makes the most sense.

It is possible that they will trade for a backup quarterback from a different team. They should have gone for schaub but now they may just look somewhere else for one. Im pretty sure they are interested in Calvin Johnson considering they met with him, but they are also going to meet with JaMarcus Russell.

i don't really think the raiders had much intention of signing carr anyways, al davis and his entire team of scouts has pretty much fallen in love with jamarcus russell and will probably crown him starter before the season begins
