I say chick!!! It grows up to be a chicken and it lays eggs ^.^

There is a correct answer to this question, and it is the egg. Dinosaurs were laying eggs long before chickens came into being. If you want to know which came first, the chicken or ITS egg, I can't tell you.

Something that was not called a chicken then all of a sudden someone saw this thing and called it a chicken then it just continued to lay eggs just like it did before it was called a chicken.

I think it was the egg! the chicken was not one of god's first creatures! it was dinosaurs who made the other creatures over time! who then made the eggs which poped out as an early stage of today's "chicken"!

I believe the chicken came first, because God told Noah to take to of each animals aboard the ark, not 2 of each eggs.
