Tea tree oil is awesome, incredible, a multi purpose oil that can be used in so many applications. Yes. It's great for some skin problems, like acne, insect bites, bee stings, mosquito bites, cuts, scratches, burns and in some cases, age spots. Age spots, also called liver spots or sunspots, should be watched carefully for changes in appearance like size or color. You certainly wouldn't want to confuse an age spot with a pre-cancerous spot. If you don't know the difference, or if you start to see one change size, color or shape, check with a skin doctor.
For cuts and scratches, you can apply a little tea tree oil to soothe the cut. My children love it because unlike some sprays and antiseptics there is usually absolutely no stinging associated with the tea tree oil. The same with bee stings. Just apply the oil 3-4 times an hour to soothe the sting.
Cheap tree tea oil? Stay away from it like the plague. It's cheap for a reason. My mother used to say you get what you pay for and tea tree oil is no exception. Unless it is stored properly in a dark amber or brown bottle, the light exposure may cause the oil to degrade, and there are some reports of poor quality tea tree oil on the market at this time. Poor quality or substandard Tea tree oil has been associated with an increase in skin rashes and adverse reactions. Whenever someone offers a product at a price drastically below the market, alarm bells go off in my head.
There are quite a few reputable suppliers, and as with any first aid or cosmetic type products, you'd do well to buy the best quality that you can afford.

Tea Tree oil is great, it clears up blemishes over night and gets rid of old scars. I would stay away from something like it on ebay. Go to a pharmacy, and they will have some for around 6 dollars for a smaller bottle and 10-12 for a larger. The small bottle will last for a while as you only need small drops.

It's a natural astringent and antiseptic, it's good for the skin. You can buy a little bottle of 100% pure Australian tea tree oil at a place like Whole Foods. Dilute a couple of drops with water, a little goes a long way and it can smell strong.

I've tried it before and I didn't find that it worked very well for zits, but I wouldn't know about age spots! I'm not sure about cuts either, but that's one of it's many uses. Apperently it also works on bee stings! Check out the organic foods section in your grocery store, you could find a bottle there, or a health food store. Use a bit on the end of a Q-Tip. It smells really strong, but you get used to it after a while.

The scientific name is Melaleuca alternifolia. It's a topical agent. I have a 2 oz (60 ml) bottle I keep at work and after months, I'm not even 1/4 of the way through it. You can use it to treat minor blemishes, cuts, and bruises. Don't use it on a gaping or seeping wound. It's a nice aromatherapic fragrance, as well.
