Wow that's a lot of pennies. But know I don't think the bank will be mad at you especially since they are already rolled. You'll probably get some strange looks though.

Only if you live in my town. My son took about 1000 pennies to the bank when he was 14 and the teller told him they were too busy. Needless to say, we were disappointed and I think she was a little full of herself.
I suppose if I were the mayors wife or some big whig in town she would have took the time, but we are nobodies and my son just had saved a bunch of pennies. He wanted to go to the store to buy a sandwich.

1. You're limited by $10,000 cash transactions by federal law and that can also include 2 related deposits.

2. The Post Office and the bank are required to report any "suspicious" transactions involving $5,000 or more.

3. By law, a cashier can refuse payment made with 50 coins.

Better check with the bank before you go.

A good tip to think about, banks will not accept pre-rolled money. They have to break it and recount to make sure that you are accurate. So, in a sense you are creating more work for them and more time that you will have to wait as they unroll all your pennies.

Hey, if your close to Nevada or Alantic City, or any Indian Gaming Casino, they count large amounts of change all the time, it's worth a shot.

They will probably tell you to mark all the rolls with your account number before they accept them ( especially that many of them).

nope, especially if they're rolled..if they weren't rolled you could still do it, you might just annoy people like the little old ladies in the movies do, counting them one by one.

...no bank has ever turned down prerolled change from me...nor have they ever broke it open and counted it.
