War is where the human race can show what it's worth. We, as humans, were made to kill one another. The democrats want to make us lose because they don't care if the muslims kill all "infidels" and takes over. Asking for peace from an enemy is a sure sign of weakness. We should just bomb all muslim cities, and finish what the Templars started several hundred years ago.

Are you nuts? From the Syrian President's perspective he's lost a lot of face, being reduced to negotiating with women. I'm guessing from the question that you're a Republican, but every once in a while the other side is bound to get SOMETHING right. Pelosi's trip to Syria is one of those things.
I understand that the Republicans vs. Democrats mentality is fun for a lot of people between football seasons, but please try to remember that neither party is actually evil. Nobody wakes up and asks themself "What's the most Evil breakfast I can eat this morning?" They're all a bunch of people with no leadership trying to do what they believe is right. Even the President. It's just unfortunate that he's so often wrong. As long as Republicans and Democrats spend all their time disparaging and encumbering eachother, nothing will ever get done.

This is pretty revealing. In an interview about Nancy Pelosi's trip to Syria, a spokesperson for Mitt Romney inadvertently gave away the game on all the GOP criticism of her Syria excursion.
The moment came in this piece in a Pennsylvania local paper called the Lancaster Intelligencer Herald. The piece reports on Romney's criticism of Pelosi's trip, then goes on to ask his spokesperson whether the same criticism should be applied to the Republicans who also went to Syria. Check out the answer:
Romney spokeswoman Sarah Pompei said during an interview later in the day Romney believes the United States should have "one foreign policy" and that Pelosi's visit will "create confusion and undermine our interests abroad."
"Nancy Pelosi is different [than rank-and-file congressmen] because she is third in line to the presidency and the chief promoter of the troop withdrawal [from Iraq], which runs counter to the president's foreign policy agenda," Pompei said.
Yep -- her trip to Syria is different because she's the "chief promoter of the troop withdrawal." There you have it laid bare. This couldn't be more straightforward, really.
Look, when Pelosi took power this year there was no shortage of pundits -- and Republicans -- who kept issuing somber warnings that if she took actual steps to try to end the war she'd suffer badly as a result. Pelosi disregarded this "advice" from the punditry, and judging by the shrieks and head-banging noises coming from the office of Fred Hiatt her early successes represent a real threat to those who want to keep the war going until victory or forever, whichever comes first.
The real key, though, is that the public is supporting her efforts. This simply wasn't supposed to happen. So, in addition to the hypocrisy shown by ignoring the Republican reps that are also over there, the noise about the Syria trip is in a way a howl of frustration at Pelosi's preliminary successes and the public support for them. It's a last-ditch effort to paint her as a friend of the terr'ists in order to confuse the American people into losing sight of the fact that she's the one speaking for them on the war. As Romney's spokesperson makes plain, it's all about Iraq. And it's sad that the media is so willingly playing along.

No! Its the fact that someone in government finally realized that America can't keep acting like an imperial power in the post imperial age, or like a colonial power in the post colonial age and not be resented and hated to the point that our allies are divided against us, our enemies are united against us and those who wish us ill have more of a platform of legitimacy to spread their anti American diatribe around the world.
Nobody will ever successfully occupy the middle east! It can't be done! The British learned that the hard way, and so did the French, and the stupidity and historical ignorance of Bush and his supporters (I count you among them) is learning in quick order this basic lesson, except its not him who suffers but our troops and their families. Unless America were to declare total national mobilization and pump half of the GDP into the DOD you won't have enough force power or forward operating capability to do what some people (probably you) want done.
Moreover, your question implies that America isn't already defeated or hasn't already been placed in a situation in which its stated strategic objective (the building of a Jeffersonian democracy in Iraq) isn't already made impossible to achieve. There is no military solution to this problem and Bush could obviously care less about making a true diplomatic effort to solve this problem.
Nancy (and i'm no fan of her or the democrats) has simply accepted reality and is trying to rebuild our image, save our troops, and quit throwing money into a war that can't be won. If the next President thinks more like this than we should be able to tap into whats left in the resevoir of good will toward America.
P.S. I would love for America to win the war, but I know it can't be done.

Your rabid monkey Dumbya never did, and his family financed and probably hides Bin Laden, why would dems admit to something repubics do? The States can't possibly look weaker than with a feeble-minded capucin monkey for the prez, and a hateful, obtuse Nazi pig for a VP, and yet there you are.

The libs would never say they wanted to see America defeated; thiey simply want values, laws and morals of San Francisco the law of the land.
They want to be a feel good nations whose priority is to coddle law breakers, jail inmates, terrorists and prosecute anyone who sincerely wants to make the U.S. great and continue being the most powerful Nation in the world.
A sincere look at history would be able to predict the downfall of our great Country if the libs continue to accomplish their mission. They justify any lies, propaganda, or deceit to accomplish their goals.
We are in trouble and apparently too many are too blind or self-serving to see it.
