Some people think kids are more disrespectful than ever. When viewing the news on TV, one encounters stories about parents pimping their 7 year daughters out for sex or dads showing their young lads how to use Ak-47s to mow people down. If kids are misbehaving these days, are bad parents the reason for the teen monsters we now have to arrest, fight or tolerate? Or should we blame TV, music or some other communicative medium.

Parents are definitely responsible for how their children turn out.
Mainstream media does have a lot of influence, but parents are also responsible for controlling that in their child's life.
Too many parents use the TV as a babysitter, instead of spending time with their children and instilling the desired values in them from birth.
So now that we have pointed the finger, what's the solution?

Most people are copies of their surrounding culture, with just a few who are willing to step outside the box. Those unwilling to think for themselves will just pass on to their children what they have learned from TV/Movies. These are the modern culture creators. Children are just picking up more culture these days by spending more time in front of the TV. Parents are just letting them do what they used to do. So there is no thinking process going on hear, at least on a level of critical thinking and decision. The parents are to blame for not getting wiser as they grew up and realizing their own mis-teachings. But big money in TV/Movie land is where the source is.

Yes, that is why they created Family Counseling. If a kid is acting up.... fix the parent's/grandparents/greatgrandparents problems. Problems are passed from generation to generation.

i carry a key ring on my purse as a trinket that to me says everything about this subject, " stupid people shouldn't breed".the blame lands wholy on the person not TV,music or even the church(even if i want to blame it).
