Dragon's Blood is very effective in love magick. It also enhances any spell it is combined with.
BTY it is not mythical. It is a "fruit" for lack of better word with a hard shell. The shell is cracked open and the contents scraped out. It is best used as a resin or in an oil carrier. Incense is nice but its intensity is less focused.

Mostly protection...It can be used as incense, in the form of resin that you burn on a charcoal block. It can be used in the form of an oil, for annointing.
Sometimes dragon's blood resin is added to ink for writing certain spells..
Dragon's Blood is a resinous substance , like a sap that comes from a palm tree called a Dragon Palm. When the resin dries, it looks like dried blood.

It could be used for anything. In some cases, it's used to heal or to cure illnesses. Some stories it can complete spells or make them more powerful. Unforunately, in some tales, dragons blood can be very poisioness if not handled porperly most often deadly like a powerful acid.

It's very good for purification and protection. A lot of Wiccans like myself use it to consecrate an altar. It's cheaper to use the incense sticks.
By the way it's a herb and extrememly expensive
