Is this guy lost. He believes their is a connection because there is evidence of an Al Qeada cell in the Kurdisch controlled territory in Iraq. Well guess what. Their is another country that had an Al Qeada cell working with in it. AMERICA. That's right. The Al Qeada cell that attacked us on 9/11 was working and living in the US for years before they struck . Does that mean they were working with Bush..NO. CHeney needs to read. If he knew any better he would know that Al Qeada religious zealots hated the secular leader Saddam Hussien. Saddam had women in high ranking positions in government and was not a devout muslim. For those reasons Al Qeada and Saddam were mortal enemies. Sorry Cheney. THERE WAS AND IS NO CONNECTION!!!

It is amazing that people still hold on to that belief and try to justify the war in Iraq by linking Saddam and Al-Qaeda, and you are correct they were mortal enemies. I think it is just cases of cognitive association. You know, Saddam Bad, Al-Qaeda Bad, therefore Saddam and Al-Qaeda must go together. and that is as for into their theory as they get.

Tom- You need to study your political and social dynamic styles and ideals relating to Saddams Ideology and Al-Qaeda - They are polar opposites in their goals and ideals. Two bads don't neccessarily automatically go together

OBL offered to send his fighters to defend Saudi Arabia against Saddam in the early 90's but his offer was rejected and the US was invited instead, this was the start of OBLs campaign against the US and against his own country.

Al Qaeda is an Islamist organization and Saddam Hussein was head of the baath party, a secularist organization and there was no connection between the two. Saying that there was a connection between is just as absurd as saying that George Bush and OBL are good friends.

Anyone with the tiniest of understanding of the politics of the middle east would say the same as I say; that people who claim a connection between the two are delusional ignoramuses unable and unwilling to learn about anything other than what their own narrow vision can see.

"Saddam hates Israel as much as Al Qaeda" so there's a connection? That's the most retarded thing I've heard if quite a while, let's see... the world hates bush and Al Qaeda hates bush so.. THE WHOLE BLOODY WORLD HAS CONNECTION TO AL QAEDA!

The Bush administration mentioned earlier the UN well-known assembly (via Sec. of State Colin Powell) that there replaced into no familiar connection between Osama bin weighted down and Saddam Hussein. i've got in no way fairly heard Cheney say there replaced right into a connection between Saddam and al-Qaeda. i've got heard him say there's a connection NOW between the insurgency and al-Qaeda. I actually have a no longer common time believing the vice chairman could persistently say something that replaced into denied publicly (on the UN) by potential of the comparable administration years till now.

Yes and it was because for quite a few if you repeat the lie enough times, it is then believed to be the truth.
We know there was no connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda yet he keeps on insisting that there is/was one. This is how he and Bush continue to appeal to the "dumbed down solid 32% support he has maintained in the polls. These two could say the sky was purple and these twits would agree. It was hilarious to me when FINALLY President Bush acknowledged the fact that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 yet a few days later Cheney said it again, linking Saddam and Al Qaeda. I just saw that he did it again today.
I suspect he is either losing it mentally (great just what we need) or his just one stubborn jacka*s who hates to admit he is wrong about anything.
Edited: For TOM, you are the prime example of the dumbed down masses alluded to. The Senate Intelligence committee report which had intelligence provided by the Pentagon illustrates the flaws in the Saddam/Al Qaeda connection. Now remember this report was issued DURING the time the Congress was in the control of the Republicans, let me state that now to disabuse you of the delusion that the Dems dreamt up the report.
Read pages, 65, 67, 73 and wake up to the reality of fact not lies and punditry.

Chaney, the only Vice President That I can remember who is "the little man who wasn't there ". Do you ever hear or see anything of Chaney? Chaney is really not interested in connections between Saddam and Al Queda. He is too busy running the country for George Boob. When he is not telling the"Yale scholar" what to say, he is making deals with his oil cronies.
I cannot think of another Administration as corrupt and stupid as the one we have now. I am ashamed to say, I voted for the bums now in office.

No, cheney does not believe it. I believe there is a connection between those two. Saddam hates Israel as munch as Al Qeada. Therefore, there is the connection. Also, Saddam hates the USA because we stop him from taking over Kuwait.

What he believes is of no concern, what he presents to America as his beliefs is. Tell me, how can supposedly highly educated men not be aware of these simple facts? Is our intelligence so lacking not a single person took the matter of culture into play in all of these discussions before we invaded Iraq? America was sold a bill of goods and most people bought it.

Yes and Saddam was such an upstanding Dictator undeserving of being dethroned. I thought all you liberals swore you would leave the country when Bush got re-elected in 2004? I wish you would go to one of the muslim countries you guys defend so much. Maybe you would see how much they would love you back!

According to the documents obtained after the war from Iraqi Intelligence office, there were some connections. Most of these document remain untranslated though.
