As someone who's favorite pitcher on the Red Sox is not Wakefield, I like Warren1515 also cringe when Tim pitches. But at the same time, he was hurt alot last year, and we have not got to see what he can do since '05.I think he'll be alright and pitch a good game.I think Boston's going to ruin the Rangers Home Opener today.

there may be greater effective FA concepts than A.J. Burnett. whether Wakefield and Wells are no longer between them. Wakefield throws assorted innings, yet his era & whip are no longer something specific and his ok entire is low. Wells has been a marginally unfavourable pitcher the two genuine existence and delusion for numerous seasons. Burnett is inconsistent and extremely harm services, yet he has a greater effective ok fee than the different men you named and is a greater effective ordinary pitcher. obtainable loose agent that I unquestionably desire is David Bush at a similar time as somebody like Gorzelany of Pittsburgh has completed properly and has a real looking possibility to proceed this way. Daniel Cabrera is worth a shot besides. certainly the SP i could drop off your roster if I have been making a flow is Belisle.

Statistically speaking about 4 or 5. That's his ERA.

Having followed him thru the years, I agree with some posters that he will either be real good or real bad.

As for why the Sox have him, comparing his stats to other pitchers, he is better than average in almost every category. He is very flexible (can start or relieve anytime and often if need be) and can eat innings saving the bullpen.

He has the longest tenure of any current Red Sox. Off the field, he is very involved in community efforts.

Why do think Wakefield is a bad pitcher? He's only has the 3rd most wins as a Red Sox pitcher (First being Cy Young and Second being Roger Clemens). Yes, he's a .500 pitcher but his knuckleball gives that rotation depth. When he's on, he's unhittable. When he's off, he's hittable. Since it's the Royals, I'll say two.

All depends on the weather conditions, I have not seen teh weather yet for teh game but I am going to go for 5 runs. If the wind is blowing strong it could be worse, the knuckleball is greatly effected by weather conditions, if the wind is blowing strong it will keep the pitch up makini almost float and the hitters can crush the ball.

You all need to listen to me. Yesterday I predicted (and I have a link proving it) that Matsuzaka would have this line:

7 IP, 6 H, 1R, 2BB, 11K

Pretty un-canny, huh?

So, today with Wakefield:

5 2/3 Innings Pitched
3 earned runs
7 hits
3 BB
4 K

Etch it in stone if you wish.

Link (and yes KingPapelbon SN is me)

I have no idea, but as a Red Sox fan, I cringe every time he has to pitch. He is a .500 pitcher at best. He is brilliant one game and then catastrophic the next two outings. Why the Sox have kept him and dwell on him is beyond me. I would have traded or released him seasons ago.

Chow!!
