what do I need to connect asony vaio pcv 1 desk top to a digital tv?

i do have an svid connection but i dont know if it is input or output

It will be an output. Just purchase an s-video cable and plug it in. It will work but probably wont look very good. S-Video to a TV is not like looking at a monitor.

Ideally, you need a VGA cable if your TV has a VGA port.
