It seems that you are confusing a PCI Slot with either an AGP Slot or some other Slot. According to the image you provided, I think you are looking at the AGP ( Accelerated Graphic Port ). This kind of port is used only to install an AGP card. It is normally a dark brown colored Slot.
The AGP Standard was developed by Intel. The AGP slot was really just an extra ( but souped up) PCI bus that could run simultaneously with the general PCI bus. The AGP Port allowed the option to use the memory that was situated on-board a AGP Card instead of using the main System Memory. This meant that the AGP Cards would work a lot better the normal on-board Video Cards or PCI Video Cards.
On a Computer System-board a specific standard is followed as to how the PCI Slot would be situated. The PCI Cards are made according to this standard followed by the IT Industry. Normally a PCI Slot is a beige / White colored and it is usually situated on the System-board one way only.

You are a victim of technology. Maybe there is a reason for this, might be some sort of compatibility issue. Try calling oe emailing Asus (you can find their contact numbers on their website) and explain that the key in the slot in your PC is on the opposite end of the slot and why is this... try to identify the manufacturer of the motherboard first and give them that information. Seems like that particular sound card is not designed for your motherboard.

I believe your available slot is not a PCI slot but an ACR slot. You may have to free up one occupied PCI slot where you could plug in your sound card.

"Your computing device won't boot likely because of the fact your capability furnish does no longer have sufficient wattage to help you new video card. examine your container to work out in case you pick greater wattage. in case you have a pre outfitted laptop, they often incorporate a 250w capability furnish. while upgrading, it is usually a reliable theory to purchase 50w greater then the mandatory minimum." seems to be that the PSU isn't the subject. changing the cardboard for a clean one on the keep is by no ability a foul theory. some enjoying cards do merely no longer paintings.

I think you are trying to insert it into an AGP sloit, not a PCI slot.
What color slot are you trying to put it into? White/Biege is PCI, and Brown is AGP.
