In-N-Out is probably one of the best fast food burger joints around. You can tell the difference from the big chains the minute you walk in the door. The buildings are spotless and everything is freshly made, old style, with real french fries cut from potatoes onsite and fried fresh to order. If you're into burgers, this is a definate stop for you. Man, I miss those burgers and fries. Double-double, fries, and a Coke, please...

I lived in Los Angeles in the 80's and IN and Out Burger was one of the good ones however, there are many who feature some great burgers. Give these a try - Carl's, Jr., Hamburger Hamlet - Sunset Blvd, Tommie's on Beverly. I can't think of the name - but on Western Blvd and also on LaCienga, there is a burger joint that you can sit on stools and watch while they prepare - you can get the best chili and cheese slattered on top of your burger - you will need a fork to get the goodness and I am telling you it's the best burger I have ever had yet - (except for mine). I think it was "Fatburger" or something like that. They never cleaned (washed with soap and water, that is) the grill -that's why the burgers and onions were so, so good!!!!

The burgers rock! I'd ask for a double-double, easy on the onion. Their burgers are sooo yummy, but they use really think slices of onion and it can be over powering. I'm not a huge fan of their fries, but some people love them. They use real fresh potatoes, so the texture and flavor are definitely different from the usual fast food fries. For sure, try and find one eat att. Have fun during your visit!!!

I love In-n-Out Burgers!!!!! I can't imagine anybody that enjoys hamburgers wouldn't love these. Those burgers are one of the reasons I want to visit Cali again. I wish they would go nationwide, but that seems to ruin the quality when businesses get that big.

Oh man, I miss In-N-Out burger!!!
I used to live in Los Angeles, but now I'm in TN.
Besides having great burgers - they have the best bumper stickers that say: IN N OUT on the first line, and BURGER on the second. Take off the B & R and you've got a sticker that says 'IN N OUT URGE'. I always had one my skateboard and my car.

I used to live in southern California, and I think In-N-Out has the best burger you can find among all the fast food restaurants, definately worth to give it a try.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do, and how good your intentions. If they aren't receptive then you might as well head to the door. I know this has a meaning beyond me, but, it is good writing. I think Happy Hiram's comments were interesting. It makes me understand him better and his perspective. And, I'm like Giggles, I like reading his comments, as long as they aren't directed at me, which I know is hypocritical. I'm too sensitive for hard core people. Just my personality and my weakness.

I'll have a 4X4 with extra breath mints (onions) and extra crispy fries no salt & chocolate shake. Its the greatest thing since sliced bread and canned beer. I live in Thailand and can't get a decent burger here.

It's one of the best. They have a "secret" menu that isn't posted at the store. You can see it here:
http://www.in-n-out.com/secretmenu.asp
If you like mustard, onions and pickles as much as I do, ask for your burger to be made "animal style".
I don't care much for their fries, they tend to be soggy and over salted but since they actually cook each customer's fries to order, you can ask for "well done" fries, which should be crispier.

Sorry, don't know what the hype is about IN and OUT BURGER...I've been disappointed at several of these outlets. Burgers are small and dry. Fresh lettuce, onions and tomato though.
JACK IN THE BOX rules for me!!
