What are your thought? I think it's gritty and dry. Some of my favorite chocolates are Dove, Dorado, Romolo's, Knipschildt and Noka ( some of the more pricier ones. )

Yes I have made my own, and you are right it's hella expensive. It took me a while to master it, and of course the time it takes too make it, I'm a fiend for dark chocolate. I just turn to Noka. Expensive but worth every penny!

Does Mr. Goodbar count as Hershey's, I love that!!
Hershey's has very little Cocoa content (like 10% compared to 50-60% for good swiss chocolate) so that means a more brittle, less cream texture.
Ever try Moonstruck? Great chocolate!

Well, yeah, I guess you are right about taste, however, the availability of the others make it less desirable for me. I mean I would rather make my own than try anything else out there. MMMMMM MMMMMM but, there comes a time when you just HAVE to have dark chocolate! You look fairly intelegent, do you make your own every now and again? If not try it once! But warning, it's more addictive than drugs and twice as expensive! But, when candy can create an involentary verbal responce like mmmmmm or Oh MY GOD! Then I personally think it's worth it!

Growing up in central Pennsylvania, every primary school took the inevitable field trip to the Hershey's factory. After several hours of smelling the intense cocoa aroma, I could not bring myself to eat it for quite awhile. I couldn't imagine working there and still liking chocolate.
I have tasted much better than Hershey's. Godiva is also made in my neighborhood and I like that much better.
Hershey's also takes their empty cocoa shells and sells it as landscaping mulch. My neighbor used to remind me of that smell I learned to hate every spring.

Hershey's chocolates are not that bad. The WORST chocolates in the world are made in china. These china made chocolates taste like doughs mixed with sugar.

Don't really like Hershy except for the dark chocolate and even that is overly sweet.
