I live in the south west of england...I was just wondering...is it normal to see wasps in end of march, beggining of april? My mum says that wasps don't come to England until around June but I'm sure I've seen a few in my back garden. Thanks.

The wasps in your yard overwintered there in sheltered areas. They come out of their winter rest when the temperature gets warm enough for them to fly around and find food/establish this year's nest. Unseasonably warm temperatures may bring them out early, but the first broods won't be active for a few weeks yet, so you won't see more than a very few until later on.
