I am taking two elderly people with me (77 and 87). Neither are slow and are very active for their ages. We all gamble, but what other things might we do with these young/older adults. Thanks!

Any show recommendations would be great. Price is not an option, but we don't like Mystere, KA, Zuminity, or show like that.

These two sites have hundred of activities
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/activities.cfm
http://www.vegas.com/attractions

A couple of shows they might enjoy
Mac King - Harrah's - $7.95 with the coupon they hand out at the booth located in the Carnival court next to Harrah's >Harrah's used to give away two free tickets to this show for first time sign ups for their slot club "Total Rewards" - No you didn't have to play a nickel, just sign up. I have not been to LV with a "newbie" for a while, but you might check to see if they still give the tickets away.

Jubilee & The Folies Bergere - Are very similar type shows, "old time LV" IMHO Jubilee is the better show. It would be highly probable that you could get 2-4-1 tickets to either of these shows, especially during the week at "Tix4Tonight" 1-877-TIX4TNT - they have four location in LV, three on the strip & one downtown. They open around 11AM with tickets for that evenings show.

Trent Carlini - Sahara - If they are Elvis fans, Trent is the best by far.

Larry G Jones - Fitzgeralds "The Man of 1002 Voices" you can see this one for $22, IMHO he's just as good as Danny Gans($100)

Lance Burton has the best magic show in LV, if you're looking for pure magic, and his show is worth seeing. But if you want a good show for less than half the price(even less with 2-4-1 coupons in the free LV magazines in your room or hotel gift shop) Dirk Arthur - Tropicana, has a very nice show $29(without the coupon)

Jay White - as "Neil Diamond" - Riviera - This guy is very good.

Barbara & Frank - Riviera >This one I have not seen

What you can do is check this site, it allows you to input the dates you will be in LV, every show, event, etc and info about each plus a link to their web site(if available)
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com "VEGAS INFO" >Shows & Events

My folks are in their 70's and they really enjoyed just sightseeing the major strip resorts & downtown.
#1-Caesars Palace
#2-Venetian
#3-Luxor
#4-Bellagio

My Mom does not get around too well so I always get them a room near the elevators, the hallways in 2,000-5,000 room hotes can get pretty long.

If you're a regular to LV then you know how to go about getting an upgrade? I take it.

The Fremont Street experience is something worth seeing. Plus the casinos in downtown are all within a 5 minute walk of one another.
The Golden Nugget is very classy -
The Golden Gate is the oldest hotel/casino in LV >Opened in 1906>I think some of the original employees are still there< The GG is also famous for it's .99c shrimp cocktail.
Main Steet Station has enough antiques, artifacts & artwork to qualify as a museum. IMHO this place is a must see, they have a brochure at the front dest to help you locate everything. They have restored rail cars, a section of the Berlin Wall, the Bronze doors and facade from the Royal Bank of Kuwait, the Pullman Grille restaurant was actually built around the fireplace from Preswick Castle. There are chandeliers and stained glass from all over the world, and on and on. MSS also has the best lunch and dinner buffets for the $$ in all LV. The Pullman Grille is only open in the evenings(5pm) and Wednesday through Sunday(I think). This is the best "moderate" price steakhouse in LV, and the setting is spectacular.

Shopping
#1-The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace>far and away the best
#2-Desert Passage - Aladdin
#3-Grand Canal Shoppes - Venetian
#4-Fashion Show Mall
The LVA site above has a list of all the shopping ctrs in LV, if you're interested in outlet malls, there are several.

If you let me know what type of gambling you like, I can tell you the best places to play. For low limit table games, the best video poker(my specialty) which slot clubs treat you the best for your level of play(free rooms/meals/etc).

If you can think of anything else, feel free to send me an anonymous e-mail through YA. I will try to help you out.

I would suggest two comedy clubs: Comedy Stop at the Tropicana and Improv at Harrah's. Both are under $25 per person and include a drink or two. You could also see Blue Man Group, which is an excellent show and is somehwat interactive. Also, I would check out the fountains at Bellagio, the volcano at Mirage and walk around Caesars and New York, New York (both are beautiful inside!)

Catch a show! Vegas is famous for them. As for Buffets, go to the Rio! They have a buffet with foods from all around the world, its HUGE. Fremont street is great, the lights are fantastic. Another idea is to go up to lake Mead. There are tours around the lake, Big pontoon boats that take you all around the lake and you can see the other side of Hoover dam. Also there are helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon that are VERY much worth it. Not many people get to see that view, and it puts things into perspective. I grew up only 4 hours from Las Vegas and spent a lot of time there, my husband was born and raised there. Many things to do there if you want to deviate from the "norm".

Visit Lake Las Vegas. From what I have seen on TV, it seems to be a wonderful place, and perfect for vacationing, too.

Madam Tussauds (sp?) in the Venitian, gondola ride also in the Venitian -- can you tell I just stayed at the Venitian, ha...

Brazilian rodizio at Mandalay Bay - but go early b/c it becomes a nightclub after 11. While at Mandalay Bay, check out the flower garden, seasonally themed, quite the spectacle.

Of course the fountain show, I'm sure you planned that...

See the tigers (free) and aquarium (charge) at the Mirage.

"O" is a fantastic show, but if you aren't into any of the Cirque du Soliel shows, try The Producers or Mama Mia (if your folks/friends aren't from NY and have already seen these). Tony & Tina's Wedding is good clean fun.

Catch the Celine Dion concert.

Or maybe Rita Rudner.

Both shows are very good.
