I think the biggest 'hurt' here could be that you lose a great friendship over not seeing things for what they really are.
You can't force a relationship of any kind.
What will be, will be.
I think she's done the right thing by you, telling you of her feelings - was very mature of her.
She obviously values you as a person and a friend. That's special in itself. Not many people have such friendships.
Let the quality friendship take its course and let it be what it is. You're actually very lucky to have an honest, caring friend in your life. Some people can only dream of having that.
:)

It's a difficult situation to be in. You can either:
1. Punish yourself and continue with the friendship hoping one day she'll fall for you.
2. Distance yourself but still be civil to her.
3. Totally sever the "friendship ties" that bind you together.
4. Focus your attention elsewhere -get a hobby, go to the gym, etc.
5. Find a girl worthy of your love - you deserve to be happy.

Gradually back away...start going out with other friends and other girls...don't be "as available" to her. If she asks you why you are distancing yourself...be honest and tell her that you are developing feelings for her that she doesn't share and that you're protecting yourself from being hurt. In time you may be able to "just be friends"...but until then, you should look after your own best interests

look shes scared because of the feelings that she will lose you. she wants you as a friend, thats plain to see. maybe shes scared if owt happened between you two that if it all went wrong, that the friendship would be ruined....just stay friends, dont push her away, you will meet someone new, and she will always wonder, what if? When your with your new girl. x

get rid of her. time will pass and heal the wounds. Just remember there will be good days and bad days, but over time it will get easier. if she's not wanting what you are, then don't waste anymore time.

maybe you should just stay away from her for a while and try liking someone else..or otherwise it will get worse and later it will be harder for you to stop liking her cuz ur love for her grew more and more...
