Riding in the woods -
--The thrill of expecting the unexpected and the adrenalin rush of reacting in a split second, to the traill condiditions.
--Left - right, up - down, around & around. It's like riding a roller coaster.
--Being out in nature. Climb hills and mountains. Ride through tunnels made of tree branches. Riding on trails that tell "you" which way to go. It's like a tobogan race at the Winter Olimpics.
--Being my own boss, with minimal rules and regulations to follow.
No paying the government for registrations or insurance.
I do what I want, when I want and wherever I want.
No "big brother" or police telling me what I can and can't do. Of course I follow the law of the land and respect others. A small price to pay for a day of excitement.
--If you enjoyed running through the park or jumping around in the dirt as a kid - Try it, you'll like it!

I've been riding street bikes for 15 years. I started riding in the dirt three years ago.

Initially I got into it because I bought a dirt bike for my son and I wanted to be able to ride with him. I've found that dirt biking has made me a better street rider - I'm not scared of the back end sliding around, I understand braking on slick surfaces better, I know more about how to distribute my weight.

Also, not having to worry about cars is nice. And I can do wheelies whenever I want.

Because when you are in the woods or on the track it is just your skill against the terrain and no nasty cops to get in the way

Even though you choose to disregard it, your brain knows the risk is higher. Higher risk = higher thrills.
