hi i am 43yrs old. before the on set of my periods, which is usually 28 days cycle, i get back pain, my thighs began aching like hell, i feel very much fatigued and tired. this happens 10 days before the actual pds. on the 1st day and 2nd day the pains are severe. it seems that if some one could sit on my back or lap iwould be relieved. the flow is also only for 2 days. now what i want to know is why is this happening? is there any harm if the flow is only for 2 or 2and half days? i dont have bp or diabetic. i had my tubectomy 15 yrs back. some one please answer. thank you.

This could be premenopause that you are going thru. Some women have this start in their 40s if it has run in the family like that.

I would also recommend checking with your dr to be on the safe side.

I had the same thing after a tubal-it was fibroid tumors as they called it. I think(my own opinion)it was caused by the tubal(unnatural). I had a hysterectomy after going to the doctor, but since then they have decided too many women were gettting hysterectomies so they developed other treatments now for this. Not sure what they are. I have been very happy & content since my hysterectomy. Don't miss the monthly at all. :) So you need to see a doctor for tests ( a sonogram) to see if it is fibroids. Good Luck!!!
You should enter menopause about the same age as your mother did. 43 is kinda young but having a tubal usually puts you into menopause sooner than women who do not have tubals. I had my tubal at age 27 & my hysterectomy at 38. Now 50, may be in the very early stages of menopause but not sure. Not enough to know yet.

Your body is getting ready to go through menopause, in a number of years, I'd assume, so your periods are getting shorter. As for the chronic aches and pains, it could be a combination of regular symptoms in addition to your changing body. If meds like ibuprofen don't work, talk to your doctor. The pill can help not only regulate your periods, but also with making the sympotms less severe, and you'll also only get it once every three months.

Your uterus may be disordered. That is what my gyn said about me. I am 46 and had an endometrial ablation which cauterizes the uterus. I have only spotty bleeding for about 2 days per month but I still get all of the bloating, fatigue, jitters etc. The only thing that is not as bad is the cramping. Valerian works well for the tension, ibuprofen for the achiness. You can get it at any pharmacy or natural food store.

I think you sound normal, everybody's period is different and apparantly 2-3 days is normal for you. I also have had the back pain, but instead of the thigh pain, I get pain in my hips so bad sometimes I have a hard time walking. Anyway, if you are worried, I would suggest making an appointment with your gynecologist. Good luck.
