A lot of people on myspace pose as celebs for reasons known only to them.
My young cousin has become obsessed with myspace as she believes she is chatting to her Idol Elijah wood (under the myspace name wood_would).
I am sceptical that this is the real actor but am also very concerned from my cousin as she has left work and stays online all day and night to spend time contacting Elijah and it is really not healthy.
Does anyone know if this is a genuine page or if it is a charlatan? because I need to help her get back on her feet.

I realise this is a big problem. convincing her it isn't real is just a step to geting her off the internet. The problem I have is making it my business when she doesn't really want help so I am trying to do it gradually.

I highly doubt it
When I was 13, I thought I was talking to Prince William back in 2002 and it turned out to be some random guy who talks on a radio station in London.
A lot of people pretend to be celebrities that they are not.
I doubt that any celebrities would get a MySpace anyway. They really don't need any more of their privacy invaded.

It is difficult to say as you can call yourself anything on my space and also dress your space up to look like anything and anyone.
I love Rod Stewart and if I put his name in the search egine I get many called Rod Stewart who are most definatly NOT Rod Stewart and I look on them just to add any good video or picture to my own my space.
Show her the replies you get and I did ask my teen who is 17yrs and loves the man Elijah and she said no he does not do myspace it could be a dirty old man just wanting to chat to her as if she is going on it noon and night WHO is she chatting too is the question people should be concerned about.

There`s no way of knowing who it is. They may have pics of `themselves` but anybody can get those. I am on myspace all the time, i use it to talk to real friends who i know and band for the tour dates. My advice? Tell her not to bother as it probably isn`t him.

I very much doubt it most of them are fake and if its a real celebs profile you usually need to know their personal email address to add them as a friend

It doesn't matter if it's a real page or not... If she is having trouble doing her normal daily activities, like work, it's a problem!
Who cares if the page is real or not, help her!
