I suspect what Chris W above really means is that one Christian is worth 500 Muslims. That's pretty much the view of most Republicans I spoke to when I was over there (in the US).

Those who are most in favour of conflict on both sides see this as part of an ongoing religious war. That is why neither side can win.

I suspect that our own religious zealot, T Blair, also subconsciously sees the war in the war in this manner, although he probably frames it in his own mind as 'good versus evil'.

(To me this is the only explanation for Blair not seeing anything wrong with the indiscriminate bombing of Lebanese women and children).

holy racism chris w, dont see how any one person is worth more than another. Especially innocent civilians.

I think the reason why most americans are pro-life and pro-war is that most of america is christian, and much of those are hard core evangelicals. They see the war as a was on islam, and are willing to die for their religion just like many people in the mid east are. Both sides are stupid but thats just the way i see it.

and kudows to adam , yes jesus camp will explain it all

If you want an answer and didn't simply post another inflammatory rhetorical question, look at the commonalities.

What is it about an abortion and this war that is common. Hint it seems to be death. Real or perceived, doesn't matter. How can some oppose the perceived death of fetuses and support the killing of those they perceive to be bent on killing us?
The answer is obvious. Both involve the stopping of killing.
BTW I'm not agreeing. I'm answering.

Because they are usually the sort of people who have to be told what to think and will blindly follow pseudo-Christian dogma, as expounded by TV evalgelists.

So abortion is wrong, a war by Christians against Muslims is right. Where they would stand on abortion for Muslims is anybody's guess.

Although they are both sad ways to die
Our Troops volunteered to fight for this country
granted they have to register for the draft(which is not in use)
those brave people are fighting because that's what they wanted to do was protect their home and yours ....

I have not ever seen a baby volunteer to be aborted
I have never seen a baby sign a paper releasing its "tissue" for research....

these men and woman are adults....
baby's are adults
and it is our moral obligation to protect our children
not use them for research or kill them in a act of total selfishness

The military are doing what they are doing for you to keep America the best country in the world...

I am not pro war .... I am not against the war
we are doing what HAS to be done ....

so take advantage of your freedom of speech and put them down and bash on their support all you want
they are dying so you can
thank your troops!!
God bless them and keep them!!

Chris W - you arent patriotic you are just plain racist.

I dont understand how they can quote 'Thou shall not kill' from the bible when talking about abortion but when it comes to war its 'as many as you can kill'.

Its a hypocritical and Im sure that most americans dont have this backwards way of thinking

Chris W., your answer makes no sense at all.

The pro-lifers are pro-death penalty too. These right wing "christian patriots" are just a bunch on nut cases.

I am extremely pro-life....more so now that my wife is pregnant. I am on the other hand very anti-war. I am American. I think you need to rethink your generalization.

No one is 'pro-war'. It's a matter of recognizing evil and being willing to confront it, even to the point of the sacrificing of life.
Sure, there are plenty who prefer to turn a blind eye to evil, and ultimately, they pay a higher price.
