While subsequent babies are more likely to be born faster than the first because the passage has already been stretched, there is no way to know what any labor will be like. Even the most experienced midwives or obstetricians know that you can't expect anything, and anything is possible. Try not to get yourself set on anything except a healthy baby at the end, or you might set yourself up to worry or panic if this labor doesn't go how you thought it would. Keep an open mind!

Oh how i wish this was as simple as learning to ride a bike. However, just as everyone else has said, there is now perfect answer. Every pregnancy is different. I was always told the first is the worst, now i would have to differ on that. My first was the easiest, and my second was okay, Now my third, horrible, and makes me never want to attempt it again!! And believe me, i probably wont.
However good news is, you can research certain sites, to help find focus points and things you can do to ease it alittle.
Good luck, and hopefully you wont have to go thru what i did, 22 days late with my third, and 33 hours of labor.
And hey- just remember atleast you know what it feels like to be in labor now, so you know what to expect.. contraction wise

My first baby was born 2hrs. and 45min. after my first contraction. My second I was in labor for about 10 hrs. However I have an 11 year age gap between the two and was told if you wait over 7 years to have another baby it`s like having your first !! I`m pregnant with my third baby now and hope this one is alot like the first!! (only 1 year gap) Every labor is different though so I wouldn`t get your hopes up to much!! Congrats and good luck!

Its usually true that the second and consecutive labors are faster. My husband didn't believe that though. I got to the hospital at 03:45 and delivered at 04:06.
It was a much easier delivery too. Good luck.

My first: 10 days early, water broke at living house and that they prompted me on the medical institution. the full element replaced into 11 h from water breaking to conserving him. I pushed for 40 5 minutes. 2nd : 3 days early, had undesirable crams for days yet genuine contractions started around 4 pm. had him at 11 pm so what 7 h or so? pushed 15-20 minutes ( and he replaced into over 10 lbs...) third prompted at 39 weeks ( because of the fact the different ones have been enormous, the 1st replaced into 9.3 lbs and that they didnt desire her getting too enormous). at a similar time as waiting them to start me in pitocin i began getting contractons and that they checked me i replaced into already 4 cm yet they prompted me besides. She replaced into born 5 h while they started the pitocin with 4 pushes. She replaced into my smallest too, 9.one million lbs lol frequently seconds and thirds etc are quicker because of the fact your physique has completed it earlier and you recognize the thank you to push greater effective etc. There are continually excpetions however and a few babies are merely obdurate and dont wanna pop out lol

The wives tale says that your second is usually about half the time of your first and in my experience and that of almost all the women I know, it seems to have some truth...have a lovely labour.
