I don't know if anyone else would deserve to be, sure South Africa may be a threat, New Zealnd love to beat their "big brother" and India was very dispointing, not to mention the tragic Pakistan team !

Yes, Aussies are the strong favorites to win the world cup, three times in a row hopefully. This is basically because they have a number of all-rounders and hence the team does not have to depend on a person or two to win any match. New experiments are constantly being tried , which has yielded positive results like Shaun Tait, Shane Watson and Mike Hussey. So, they can win on any given day, who-ever be the opposition!

While I too agree that Australia are hot favourites to win the world cup, since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for sure at this stage. One or two bad day for them in the field will ruin their chances as it happened in the case of India and Pakistan.
