A loophole? A loophole is an excuse.
If it's a reason you want maybe it's because the Indian batsmen had such huge holes in their cricket bats (especially the Indian "god" S. Tendulkar) resulting in a batting fiasco.

The prime reason for the dismal performance of the Indian Team in the WC 2007 is the indifferent attitude of some of the senior players, both towards the juniors and the coach. It is also the over-confidence that was exhibited against Bangladesh, which finally ended in the latter's favor. Above all, cricket is not bread and butter for majority of the players. Their main interest is in the 'Ad' business and the sponsors who gives ten times more money than the BCCI offers them for the cricket matches. It is time to bid adieu to the seniors and welcome juniors like Dinesh Karthik, who are raring to go and have the potential to deliver!

The basic failure is POOR MENTAL strength. They showed COMPLACENCY against Bangladesh and choked due to NERVOUSNESS against Bangladesh. This is one loop hole no coach or god can rectify........ only the players must rectify by themselves......otherwise it will be the same old story for the Indian cricket.

There is actually no link betwen records and present performance. Batsmen sticking to crease like fevicol can make more records than those play strokes fearlessly. We have more of politics, and sponsors influence than sport. I do not see it changing, until we boycott them for some time.

in my opinion the loophole in the faliure of the indian cricket team is over confidence they were over confident that they will defeat banglades and lost to them and another reason was the faliure of senior players like sachin dravid (except sourov ganguly who had a good series)
