Caculate the degrees of a Hexagon
n = number of sides
180(n - 2) =
180(6 - 2) =
180(4) =
720 degrees
Divide 720 by 6 to get the internal angle
720 / 6 = 120
120 degrees per angle

Wax takes a lot of energy to produce, the hexagon cell is a suitably rounded shape but a true round would actually take more wax. Brood cells get round anyway from the cocoon that is spun in the cells. Honey cells if round would use more wax to store less honey. And no, the cells aren't exactly the same size. Most brood and honey cells are about 5 to an inch, drone cells about 4. Honey cells can vary in depth. Beekeepers do this by spreading the frames apart far enough to get the bees to draw the cells out further but not so far that the bees build another combe in between. Even among normal cells there is some variation. You don't see much at first when the beekeeper gives them foundation with the pattern on it for them to draw out but in nature there's always some variation. And brood cells get smaller over time as successive bees leave behind their cocoon so slightly smaller bees are produced. That's probably enough, hope that answer it. Marv

the total of interior angles in a hexagon add to 720 degrees so if you wish to draw a regular hexagon (where all sides and angles are equal) thhen each interiior angle shouuld be 120 degrees.
as interior and exterior angles are supplementary each exterior angle should be 60 degrees.
in a non regular hexagon interior and exterir angles can be anything but will always add to 720 and 360 degrees respectively.
be careful if you include reflex interior angles because you get into negative exterior angles (because they are inside the shape)

If you're drawing a regular hexagon (one with all sides and angles equal) you need to draw a line, measure an angle of 120 degrees, then draw the next side, then measure 120 degrees and so on.
