I have had a turtle for 10 years. It is now as large as a dinner plate. Don't worry about salmonella -- but do wash your hands after cleaning the pool or handling the turtle. All pets have germs of various sorts; practise common sense and good hygiene.

In short yes they do.... Can I suggest a great guide to read... The dummies guide to Tortoise and Turtles. This guide has heaps of info in there.

Always wash your hands in anti-bact handwash. Or grab some hand rub the kills all well known germs.

Any animal that lives in it's own toilet carries salmonella. Period. It's not the animal's fault, it's the person who gets salmonella's fault for not washing their hands after handling their reptiles. Snakes, lizards, turtles, ALL OF THEM CAN CARRY SALMONELLA. If their cages got cleaned as quickly as they were dirtied, maybe they wouldn't......

No. If you eat them live there is no chance of samuneler posining. However if you can catch samuneler posining of ginger people-alive or dead.
