oh thanks guys so far, and Poetryof, u mean iris took her life because of mounting pressure against her or? i am amazed as i have just started to read her pages on this title last night. thanks for telling me...

It happened yo. Iris Chang was a historian that did a lot to reveal the atrocities that occurred, but the things that she recorded eventually became too much to bear and she took her own life. She is still revered among Nanjing survivors.

I dunno how japanese people feel about it but the rest of the world considers the rape of Nanjing to be a fact.

I've been to the killing field. There is enough independant record of what happened in Nanjing (including from Japanese newspapers of the time) that no serious person can claim that it never happened.
