I bought a house 2 years ago and my lawn is just bad. I want to get it all green and pretty but I can't afford to resod or pay a lawncare professional. Oh and my yard is pretty big. Where should I start? seed it? Move - hahahha?

Don't buy anything yet. Water at least 3 times a week. Don't use weed killer (most weeds are nice and green), just pull the spikey ones. Whoever lived their before did'nt care about it, you do, so it will fill in and look nice over time. If you come across a little money buy some grass seeds and sprinkle some soil on top so the birds don't eat them.

In the fall fertilize using 12-12-12
or Scotts turf builder it weeds and feeds........infact you can use it now. buy yourself a spreader around $20 or $30 dollars and follow the directions on the bag........just remember make sure to water it well.

We use weed and feed on our lawn and add grass seeds to the pots that needed it. It worked fine!
