For sure I understand you wanting him to stop, however it is not up to you it is up to him, especially when it comes to smoking pot, Pot believe it or not is proven to help in aiding people with allot of illnesses, such as glaucoma, alzheimers, diabetes, blood pressure, The list goes on, you see the thing is that when your high on pot your judgement is not affected like when your have been drinking and are drunk, now that is dangerous. As for Ciggy's he again has to make the decision on his own, however Cig's are not good in any way and the best thing to do is show him that he has support for when he quits. and explain to him that he will be able to taste foods again, and breathe better, smell, not have that nasty cough or stinky clothes. Ciggarette are nasty!!

When there are so many other drugs in the world that people o'd on and die, weed is not a major, the most that is going to happen to someone who smokes a whole lot of pot is he is either going to get a headache, go to sleep or spew.
Alcohol is legal and by far worse than weed.
You can't make other people's decisions for them, if he wants to smoke cigarettes and pot, let him.

Ha!
Weed is DRUGS? Weed is actually safer than tobbacco. Anyhow, you can have an intervention, All his friends can go into his room and talk to him about kicking the butt, etc.
But as someone who quit smoking, I can say that its he who has to decide. You force him to do it, and he'll slip after a few days. He has to KNOW that he should stop, he has to WANT to stop.
But in any case, its his business. Butt out if you don't like smokers. How old is he, btw? And you should not turn him in, unless he progresses to heavy drugs like coke/ methamphetamines. etc.
How regular a smoker is he, how regularly does he smoke pot?

dare him to do it as much as possible, but don't do the stupid thing and buy it for him. if he can handle such large amounts of the drug without any serious side effects, leave him be. ppl change for themselves only, fact of life. if he does start to show some serious side effects, he'll probably wanna leave the stuff anyway, mission accomplished...

Involve a lot of people who care. I found out myself, you can't take their word that their going to quit though. I think they just tell people that to get them off their back. You can only talk to them, and hope they make the right decsion. Its emotionaly training when your worried and trying to get someone off drugs.

You become what your friends are. I had friends that did it, then I did it. Simple. I quit, am no longer friends with them, have family, and went seperate ways. You won't get him to quit unless he wants to, and he probably does not.

I wish I had an answer that was guaranteed...but I don't. Do what you can but if you are unsuccessful it's time to let him know you are no longer friends...and why.
