Are you talking about your favorites list or the links that show up when you click the drop down tab on the address bar. If the latter, then you have the option set to wipe out browsing history every time you close. Tools/ Internet Options / Browsing History / Settings - you probably have the days to save set to 0 or 1 so increase it.
