Try to forget why in the first place you feel miserable or sad. The best remedy would be to keep yourself busy. Head out to wherever you enjoy having fun and just keep yourself busy... that's the key. If you're busy, you just don't have time to think of anything else. Besides, if you keep yourself busy enough, you'll feel exhausted and sleep will come instantaneously. It's a win-win situation basically. Hope you feel better. :)

When I am down I try to talk to a friend. If none of my friends are not available I try write in my journal about it. If that is not the trick I will put my ipod on and go for a walk on the beach. I recently signed up for a kick boxing class. I am a beginner so I am much slower on getting the basics right now.I like it because it is such a release for me. I get to take the hard day I had with my boss and hit the bags about it. Try finding something that will give you a release. You may even meet more people. Good Luck

The best way to feel "happy" is to go out with friends, have a couple of drinks, if you are old enough. Keep "optomistic" people around you and avoid any pessimist till you feel better. Always remember whatever you do don't regret it, you made the decision and move on with your life. Life usually gets tedious only when you are bored or feel if you have no purpose in life, which you don't so get to those hobbies you love. Go fishing or to a happy movie with your girlfriend/boyfriend.
:) You are happy even when you don't feel it, just look for something, that brings out the happiness.
Good Luck and dont forget to rate this answer. :)

Everyone is going to have a different answer for this. I think each person needs to find the answer themselves.
While someone here said music, but not the rock or emo kind, I disagree. Nothing pulls me out of a slump quicker than listening to a good band. But that is me. I know some people who love to just be by themselves and write. Others who simply enjoy taking a walk. Still others who work out.
Everyone is going to be different, but the key is to find something.

Music, not the emo or rap or rocker kind, just sweet melodies playing music and it need not be classic but you know the type of music that you hear and just feel so happy to hear it and you never cared about the title, artist, or genre but just was Really happy?

I go do service for someone. It gets my mind fully off my own problems and concerned for someone else.
Also, I've found I like to read a good book too. It has a similar affect.
