I was wondering, if it could ever work. Every country in the world, using the same currency.

What do you think?

Ironically, it's more likely that the world could exist without currency (i.e. money wouldn't mean anything anymore) then it is likely that a one-world currency would be acceptable in my opinion.

The acceptance of the Euro, though, gives the world hope, should a one-world currency be desired.

It has taken 50 years to get around to getting 15 countries to accept the Euro. There are closer to 200 countries in the world. I think that it would never happen. Are you willing to drop your country's currency and accept the Euro? Not just accepting the currency, but the agreements on things like allowing foreign labour and standard products and limiting government economic policies.

Most countries would be just too proud to adopt someone else's currency. And to other countries it means giving up too much control over their economy.

Theoretically, I don't see why it wouldn't. However that would require every nation of the world to actually agree on something and as that smacks too much of world peace, I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening.

Why could there be a attractiveness? Why no longer "overseas money"? Or "curren" or "cur" for short, for people who're lazy and do in comparison to asserting a polysyllable word. Or the money could be "Cur", and the paper could be "Rency". i choose 20 Rencies! could you convert a Rency for one hundred Curs? I see no would desire to swap or make an new word, while one already exists.
