My periods stopped while I was on the injection, which is normal but they still havent returned. why is this and is it normal??

Even if you arent intrested in being on the shot anymore you still need to keep your health care provider up to date on the issue! So I would call at the earlyest conveniance. Also if you do have sex then you could be pregnant. Just make an appointment and discuss a new BC if you dont want to continue the shots.

Good luck & God Bless

As far as I know it takes quite a while to leave your system entirely. I have been taking the pill for seven years and have had a few problems with different pills causing depression, weight gain etc. I asked my doctor obout the injection and she said it was a bad idea for me as if it caused a bad reaction it would take much longer for it to leave my system than the pill so that may be the case with you, that it hasn't totally left your system yet. I'd contact your doctor to verify that.

I have talked to other women who have done Depo-Provera and they said that for them it took about a year to have their period come back.

I would go ahead and double check with the dr to be on the safe side.

it can take from 6 months to a year for your periods to get back to normal after stopping it, something to do with the hormone levels.
