Heres a good one: I forget exzctly how it works, but maybe you can find it on the internet somewhere...heres how I think it works: You get a glass milk jar (the old style) that just doesn't quite fit a hard boiled egg (shell off) in it. then you burn something in the jar and you stick the egg on top in the hole. the egg pops right into the jar. there is also a tricky way to get it out but I forget it. Look it up...

Burn a cheeto and your get carbon. I don't think it is quite enough for a science fair project but its still kinda neat and pretty gross (you find out what cheetos are really made of).

This one is similar to one posted by supersa3, except it shows gravitropism (plants grow up) instead of phototropism (he is wrong, it is not photosynthesis) (Phototropism: plants grow towards light).
Grow a plant in one of those things you can buy at the store so you can move it around. When it is sticking out soil an inch or two, turn it on it's side (the whole plant). Becuase of something called gravitropism, the plant will always grow upwards. After it has grown into a sort of L shape you can turrn it on another side and so on. Make sure you have a straight growing plant that grows quickly.

try planting a little plant in a cup and then putting it in a shoebox. Make a maze for the plant to follow with a little window for light at the end. This experiment is simple and demonstrates photosythesis.
