That wouldn't be more productive. The mother and father would be seperate. Parenting would be harder.
Moms with their daughters. Fathers with their sons. It would be better if the home wasn't broken.
Men and women need to interact. Seperating the two would just harm the entire society. And it would highlight the difference between the genders. Over the past centuries we have been trying to prove that men and women are alike, equal.
And what would the world be like? How would we establish where men live, and where women live? And how could we keep the two seperate?
That wouldn't help society AT ALL.

Well, if same gender marriages are approved universally, I think we'll all find out.
If that becomes reality, I am certain that there will be same gender marriages of straight men and women, for a variety of reasons.
Separation of the genders may just become a reality. The stigma for out-of-wedlock babies is virtually non-existent now. However, the inevitable problems associated with them have not gone away.
I like living with my opposite or complement. . .opposite sex, opposite mannerisms, opposite ways of thinking, etc. I probably wouldn't be as tolerant of someone just like me. I think the natural arrangement of men and women becoming couples works much better.
If the genders were separated, crime would become a much bigger problem than it is now. I think productivity, overall , would suffer.
There is, however, something to be said for keeping genders separate in the workplace or in school. That is a good idea that has proven to work very well. When that happens, both genders tend to be more focussed and productive.
So, in a limited sense, I think your plan may have some merit.

Of course not. Men cannot do without women, and women love men also. There are always going to be differences between how the genders act and think, but when it comes down to it, we need each other, and that's how God intended it to be.
For genders to separate would actually fracture society, not make it productive. Each gender has something to contribute and it would be tragic if we did not work together.

No, I go to an all female college and although I am most productive when men aren't around I don't think I would be very happy in such a society. I think I had more fun in high school where there were guys than in college where there aren't any, I miss goofing off with my friends in math class and Spanish class.

Good Lord, no! Even without the sweet, sweet lovin' aspect of it, some of my best friends are men. Men give me respite from the over-emotionalism of other women, they don't care about gossip or fashion, they're usually funnier and they just generally rock. If my society didn't have men, I'd be quick to look for a new society.

I dont know if that would be more productive or not. I think men and women keep things interesting. Women wouldnt have any men to complain about lol and I dont think I could handle only living with women, we can be pretty crazy at times.

That is hilarious! For one thing, we BALANCE each other. I couldn't STAND to be around anal, petty women all day, everyday, the rest of my life!
Nor, could I stand to be around men handling their genitals constantly while they 'talk' (or whatever that is comin outta their mouths!). SORRY EVERYBODY, just makin a point here.. and we don't come together JUST to PROCREATE! lol.. but whatever. Anything more I say will SURELY have YA on me **** agin tonite.

No. Being with all women all the time would get on my nerves. I need some social interaction with men as well.
