Fever is usually a sign of infection or the way the body alerts your something is amiss. With babies, teething can cause a fever. If it breaks easily with Tylenol, then I wouldn't worry too much.
As for being sick... it is that time of the year. Our weather has been crazy so my 10 month old seems to catch a cold every other week- not to mention we tend to pass it around like a hot potato. :-/
If the pediatrician isn't too concerned, I wouldn't be either. You can always see another one for a second opinion, but remember that your doctor does indeed treat hundreds of babies and sees this kind of trend all the time.

I am a mom of 2 (a 4 year old and an 8 month old) and I happen to be a pharmacist!!! to answer your question, there is nothing you can do to make a cold go away faster. But, you can make her more comfortable in the meantime. For her congestion, you can giver her pediacare (the orange box) and buy a humidifier and place it in her room, or take her into the bathroom after you let the hot shower head run for a while. the steam will loosen the congestion so you baby can breath. I used to do this with my child every night before bed when he had a cold. for the fever tylenol only at this age. good luck.

Most likely a virus and/or teething. My boys both had fevers during teething and dr said as long as it stayed below 101 it wasn't a big deal and that tylenol should bring the temp down. They can get a runny nose, loose BM's, coughing (from the extra saliva) and a tempature during teething but this can also also happen with a virus.

Have you had her tested for allergies? I know that the doctor is the one with the medical degree, and all that, but that's your baby, if you are that concerned over her well-being, insist that the doctor be too. My brother was a normal baby, then he was sick all the time. Didn't sleep well, would cry and cry. He was miserable and nothing seemed to make him feel better. Then finally my mother had it with the doctors "not doing anything" about it. She made them listen to her, come to find out, he was allergic to cork, like in cork boards. There was one entire wall in his bedroom, made up of cork. Once it was removed, so was the crying, fevers, runny noses and all of that. Good Luck with everything and keep your chin up!

Sounds like your baby is teething. Is your baby eating, playing and behaving normally (might be a little cranky)? Probably not too much to be concerned about. You could always ask the doc to do a blood test, however, on a squirming baby that might not be worth the trauma of having a needle find a vein.

Is she around someone who smokes, have pets, need to dust and vacuum more often? She could have an allergy to something that is causing the symptoms. Dust, pets, or cigarette smoke that does not bother one person, can make another person sick. She also could be having seasonal allergies now that spring is here. You could try taking her to an allergy specialist. She sounds as if she could have an upper respiratory infection. She is too young to test for allergies, but the allergy doctor could possibly help you to get the problem under control. Some babies develope asthma if the allergies are not treated.

it could be something like the flu. i dont noe why the hell the doctor isnt concerned but u should ask him to check it out until he finds a reasonable result. its not normal for yuhr baby to have a temp for at least two weeks, not to mention the runny nose.

*Children in daycare settings are exposed to more viruses and in general get sick more often than children who aren't in daycare.
*Teething can raise the temperature, usually only to a low-grade fever (under 101F), and can come and go while the tooth/teeth are descending until they finally break through the gums and the gums heal.
*Allergies can cause symptoms of mild illness that can be mistaken for a viral infection, and can go easily undetected with young babies. Allergies can also leave the immune system weakened and prone to susceptibility to other viruses

Well first of all, if the doctor isn't concerned about that, you need to find another doctor for you baby because she has a weak immune system and might need some meds. to make it stronger.
