Are her eyes puffy, itchy swollen maybe a little bruised looking?
Allergies could be the culprit.
Is it hard for her to get going in the mornings.
Read somewhere that if you are not waking up before your alarm goes off-- that you probably are not getting enough sleep.
Rinse face in the morning with alternating hot and cold water or get some of those cold eye gel masks. Need to address underlying cause though.

Leave her alone. Shes only 12 years old. Don't make her worry about her looks any more than I'm sure she already does.

Yes. Children need more sleep than adults do. Take her to a dermatologist, and let her be a child!!! What sort of maniac allows their baby to work THAT hard?????
