If you believe that then you are ignorant of telemarketing. Most call centers have COMPUTERS making the phone calls. The Indians on the other end of your phone are just doing the talking. That's their job. And they'd be fired in an instant if they made personal calls. Do you know how expensive it is to make calls to the US from India? So to answer your question, NO, Indians in India do not call American Idol numbers to vote for Sanjaya. India is half a day ahead of us. Most people are sleeping when the show is aired. Do you really think they get up real early in the morning to watch Sanjaya sing and make expensive phone calls? Do you think they're allowed to watch TV while working? Aye yay yay! Scheesh.

If this show was in India, Sanjaya would have been voted out long ago. Have you seen the talent on similar shows in India?

In the million plus call center operators in India most workers have calls automatically dialed for them by computers. They couldn't even call next door if they wanted to. Americans are homophobic. How else can you explain the hatred towards a 17 year old who is participating in a singing competition. He is not Bin Laden who is hell bend on killing innocent people.

Nope.

"Indians are usually attuned to the successes of their compatriots abroad. But apart from a few brief newspaper articles, at least one short TV news segment and a few blog mentions, the reedy 17-year-old with the unsteady voice is a virtual unknown here.

One reason is that the show is broadcast a day late in India, and on an English-language channel that attracts relatively few viewers in this country of 1.1 billion."

Read this article - most Indians apparently don't even know who he is, not to mention that the show is being telecast a day late on a English channel very few people watch

It think the Indians have better things to do and more things to worry about than some kid who is living in a country thousands of miles away and probably has no connections to his heritage anyway

India is not at fault at all, and I don;'t know why America is so stubborn to accept that, we can't do anything!
we're on the other side of the world for crying out loud!
and Call Centre People can't vote, cause they don't watch American Idol at all.
