Yes, ignorance is bliss. The more I find out about the world we live in the less I want to live in it.

Example:

Pretend you know nothing about rape. Hell, pretend you don't even know what rape is. Then someone tells you, "In 2005, there were 191,670 victims of rape, attempted rape or sexual assaults according to the 2005 National Crime Victimization Survey." Do you feel better after having that information? Of course not. That's horrible. If you don't know then it can't depress you. Ignorance IS bliss, whether we like to admit it or not. People today seem to want to get away from this, though I think it is mainly because ignorance is synonymous with stupidity in a lot of people's minds, which isn't true. Being ignorant about something means you just don't know, nothing more. I don't play basketball. I am ignorant to how the game is played. It doesn't necessarily mean that I'm stupid or less intelligent overall. Restricting information from you is a good thing to do sometimes. If you have EVERYTHING that's out there, you will eventually want to kill yourself because of all the heartbreak and tragedy in the world.

I absolutely think that ignorance is bliss, because when you don't know anything, how can you possibly be worried about it? When your smart or a genius, you have the stress of having all of this knowledge that can bother you and frustrate you. But you are right, having knowledge is more important.

People only gain insight from what they learn. But people don't always like what they learn. For instance, if someone turns on the news and learns about some tragedy, they may not like it even though they have gained knowledge.

But being educated about the world can only make someone better informed. It may not be pretty, but people will be more aware of the world around them if they recognize the gravity of new events.

NO, I don't agree at all.
We have been so inundated with personal facts of stranger's lives, their tragedy's, twisted and demented actions that we have become a world full of complacency and little shock.

It should shake us to our teeth the inhumanities, but we are daily fed this drip dose of absolutely degradation and now we don't recognize garbage when we smell it or have our faces rubbed in it.

We do need to step back a little to being more naive and sweeter, yet not lose the growth and truth.

I feel that it is circumstancial. It depends on the intensity of our knowledge about certain events, ideas, objects, etc. For example , if it's something minor like what Sandy got me for my birthday, then yes, I do want to be ignorant because I like surprises. On the other hand, I'd also like to know whether or not that weird spot on my hand is cancer or not. To me, it depends on the situation and the degree of the outcome.

Yes ignorance is still bliss.

Sagging pants
*** parading in tight jeans, all shapes and sizes
tattoes on private body parts showing and
the verbage that this modern generation uses.

I think it is because the people of lesser intelligence seem to be happier people.
