Are there any rules about matching pinstripes?
I know there are rules about mixing patterns and I'm scared of violating them.
For example, if you have one article of clothing with the pinstripes spaced close together and another with them farther apart, can the pieces be matched?
Also, I have a hat with double-pinstripes and a halter top with single pinstripes. They're the same color and the spacing is fairly similar between the two. Can they match?

There may be rules, but you just have to try it on and see how you like it. If you LOVE it, wear it. If the image in the mirror makes you feel confused, don't bother.
I think your hat and halter-top should work, but like I said, try it on. You should wear what you like to wear, not what some fashion guru says is OK.
BTW, if you are really not sure, try it on three different times. If it grows on you, it's probably OK. If you are still not sure, it's kind of iffy for you and you shouldn't try to pull it off.

If you use something as daring as pinstripes, you can't overdo it (too matchy-matchy) If you're wearing a pinstriped shirt, some shoes and a blazer that also have pinstripes might work with it. Or you could have a pinstriped pants-jacket combo. But don't overdo it.

Why would you want to wear pinstripes with pinstripes you dont want to look like a zebra. Its always good to wear a solid color with pinstripes.

I don't think they can. I am totally with you, I would not risk it. I would do pinstriped pants and a plain jacket with a patterned shirt.......it's just really risky to me

My rule is always one patterned item per outfit.
