Argentina was allied with Germany during WWII. Juan Peron actually believed in the Nazi cause and, at the end of the war, harbored Nazis who would have otherwise been tried for war crimes at the Nuremberg trials.

No they are not and were not allied during any wars. They were among the first independent nation state in the Southern Hemisphere and as such advocated independence for others.
I don't believe there was any democratic country listed in the Major or Minor Axis countries or their collaborators. You can find the list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axis_powers. Please note the absence of Argentina.
Argentina is composed of 97% European descendants. They are mostly Italians and Spaniards but there's also significant German, Polish, French, and Slavic populations.
While it's true that Peron for the working man and a unionist to the point of allying with the socialists I haven't seen anything, including in the referenced article, saying he supported or championed the Nazi doctrine.
During and after the WWII, Argentina allow immigration of German Military, including Nazis. When Peron became President in 1947 he did not stop it. Therefore it could be said he allowed it.
Argentina is the only Nation who have accepted and refused extradition of accused persons, especially those who bring lots of money and maybe some business acumen.
