8-x=-1
x=9

2) 1 meter= 10^6 micrometer

3) l=5 , w=3
perimeter= 2l+2w=10+6=16 units

1) 8 -x = -1
transpose x to the right side to make it positive..
8 + 1 = x
9 = x
x = 9

2) in a meter there are 10 000 000 micrometers in a meter.

3) try to plot the points on a cartesian plane.
after you have drawn the rectangle,, you'll see that you have dimensions that are:
length = 5 units
width = 3 units

we know that the formula for the perimeter of the rectangle is:

Perimeter = 2L + 2W
L is length
W is width

try to plug-in our values to the formula

P = 2(5) + 2(3)
= 10 + 6
= 16 square units.=)
